Last weekend I attended my first horse race at the Hastings Racetrack with my lovely friend Nargess of Fleur de Lis Events.  It wasn’t just any old horse race though.  It was the annual Deighton Cup event hosted by The Social Concierge.

My outfit for the event

In my Beautulleful skirt and favourite Sam Edelman shoes. Ready to hit the racetrack!

We had a lot of fun checking out all the nooks and crannies at the event.  There were cigars, mint juleps and Petite Puf cotton candy up for grabs, lunch catered by Cocktails & Canapes and even live music performed by local Vancouver artists Miami Device.

I love getting dressed up and these types of events are perfect for just that.  The Deighton Cup is all about the outfits.  The people-watching was amazing. The hats and fascinators were top-notch.  It was a fun event to be a part of.  :)

Make sure you get a fun group of friends together and make a day of The Deighton Cup next year!  I have to admit that every time I see someone wearing a cute hat now, I think “Deighton Cup, next year!” :)

A huge thank you to Kate and Steven of Camber Communications for including us in this great event.  You two are lovely and the event was a huge success!
