Nairn's Oat crackers and cookies north shore mama

When I was younger, tea time was always ‘an event’ at my grandparents’ house.  My Oma was an incredible baker and, whenever my brother and I went to their house after school or on the weekends, she would put out a plate of cookies and brew a pot of (strong) black tea.  My brother and I both drank our tea with LOTS of milk and honey, but the whole thing was an experience.  And, an experience that is so engrained on my heart and in my head that every single time I drink a cup of tea, I remember my Oma and Opa fondly.

To this day, I would rather not drink a cup of tea at all if I don’t have a little treat to eat with my tea.  I know it sounds odd, but it was just such a ritual that I became accustomed to… that tea is to be enjoyed with cookies. And that’s that.

Recently, I’ve been enjoying a variety of Nairn’s Oat Cookies with my afternoon tea.  Nairn’s is a Scottish company and their products taste great  :)

There has been a great deal of research into the positive health benefits of oats. Oats are high in fibre and contain complex carbohydrates which give you a natural and wholesome boost to help you get the most out of your day. We work hard to make sure that all that oaty goodness stays in all our naturally energising products, without ever compromising on taste.

I know so many people who have removed gluten from their diets for both medical reasons and just out of preference.  Nairn’s is perfect for not only those who are gluten-free, but for anyone who simply wants a yummy treat to enjoy with their afternoon tea!
