Lonsdale Quay: The perfect place to spend a chilly morning with the fam
Activities January 16, 2013 Jessica Blumel 4

If your kids are like our toddler, there is no such thing as a lazy Saturday/Sunday hanging out around the house all morning. We need to get out in the morning (and the earlier the better!). As a result, we are always looking for new ideas of where to go and what to see. The Vancouver Aquarium is, of course, the favourite, but sometimes it is nice to stay a little closer to home as well.
Last weekend, my husband and I took Portia to Lonsdale Quay for our morning outing. I am not sure why, but we have never taken her there and it is such a great space for kids! Wandering through the food court is entertainment in and of itself, but the Kids’ Alley upstairs?! Jackpot!
We started with a fresh bowl of hot soup from the Soup Meister. Portia sat facing the glass elevator which provided a great deal of unexpected entertainment!
After an early lunch we wandered up to the second floor of the Quay where there are all types of things catered to kids (and their parents). There is a giant ball pit where the kidlets can just throw off their shoes and jump in all together for FREE. There are little $1 ‘rides’ and there is even a small mini golf course up there!
We watched buses pull in and out of the station outside, did some people watching (she is definitely her mommy’s daughter!) and it was a very inexpensive (and fun!) way to spend a weekend morning.
Maybe this weekend we’ll even ride the Seabus, just for the experience 😉
What are your favourite weekend outings with the family? Leave your comments below as I would love to hear them!

January 19, 2013 #3 AuthorWhen we went to the ballroom last weekend the ballroom was open, but the slide had been removed for maintenance. Is the slide back now? Would be great to know before we head down there again
Thanks!

January 19, 2013 #4 AuthorHi Angela! I am not sure if it’s back in. It wasn’t there when we were there either last week. You’d think it would be a priority 😉
