We’ve been testing out some treats in our home these days. While we don’t often send our girls to daycare with cookies, sometimes I love to treat the kids to a little surprise in their lunch boxes. The only thing is… there are other littles in our daycare who have severe nut allergies. This rules out a lot of lunch items and snacks that we are able to send and I’m often left a little stumped (especially considering the fact that Portia and Madeleine would live off of peanut butter and jam sandwiches if we let them!).
Bear Paws and Wagon Wheels now make snacks with Wowbutter, a peanut-free spread that tastes just like peanut butter, so they’re perfect for school!
It’s always very exciting to me when I do find out about a product that CAN be included in our girls’ lunches. It’s even more exciting when I get to test them out first hand! We were sent some Dare Wagon Wheels (remember WAGON WHEELS!!??) and Bear Paws to snack on. I sent hubby to work with some Wagon Wheels as I knew that would be a treat he’d enjoy. He informed me that he shared 2 boxes in the staff room and they were demolished in no time flat. As for the individual pouches of Bear Paws, we have been rationing them as special treats for our daughters and they are being greatly enjoyed!
At Dare, we understand parents’ concern about foods that can cause adverse allergic reactions in their kids and other children. We empathize with the challenge of finding wholesome snacks that satisfy the pickiest of eaters and that are safe to bring to school.
