I will be the first to admit that Netflix is a bit of a crutch in this household when it comes to entertaining the kids. Want to shower in peace? Throw on a show. Need to get dinner made? Throw on a show. You know the drill…
While I try and limit TV time as much as possible for the kids, there are just some moments where Netflix makes life easier. And I am ok with taking the help that I need in those moments.
But Netflix isn’t just for kids, unlike Trix. (Shoot- Did I just date myself?) 😛
Mamas be watching too. And we be watching sometimes wayyyy too late into the night, but that Netflix watching is sometimes a sanity saver. Life is busy. Parenting, while fun and wonderful, is hard and tiring too. Sometimes you just want to put on a great show and lose yourself for a little while.
Here are my favourite titles to lose myself to on Netflix:
1- The Mindy Project (Comedy)
Aiming to straighten out her complicated personal life, a top doctor seeks to overcome her obsession with romantic comedies and finding a soulmate.
2- The Goodwife (Drama)
In this courtroom drama, attorney Alicia Florrick finds herself forced to return to work after a scandal lands her politician husband in jail.
3- House of Cards (Drama)
A ruthless politician will stop at nothing to conquer Washington, D.C., in this Emmy and Golden Globe-winning political drama.
4- Brooklyn 99 (Comedy)
This ensemble comedy tracks the characters and cases of a Brooklyn police station, far from the dangerous and dramatic challenges of Manhattan.
To avoid jail, an ultra-suave con man signs on to help an FBI agent catch other white collar thieves but he conceals an ulterior motive.
6- Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (Comedy)
When a woman is rescued from a doomsday cult and lands in New York City, she must navigate a world she didn’t even know anymore.
Those are all keeping me SUPER entertained these days!
What I have already watched and HIGHLY recommend, if you haven’t yet seen it…
1- Making a Murderer (Documentary series)
Filmed over 10 years, this real-life thriller follows a DNA exoneree, who while exposing police corruption, becomes a suspect in a grisly new crime.
2- Homeland (Action Drama)
A CIA agent suspects that a marine who just returned from after years in captivity has been turned into a terrorist.
3- The Intouchables (Movie)
Based on a true story, a quadriplegic aristocrat’s world is turned upside down when he hires a good-humoured ex-con as his caretaker.
4- Mad Men (Series)
Set in 1960’s New York City, this award-winning series takes a peak inside an ad agency during an era when the cutthroat business had a glamorous lure.
5- Suits (Series)
When he impresses a big lawyer with his razor-sharp mind, a college dropout scores a coveted associate job, even though he has no legal credentials.
What are you watching right now on Netlflx? I love getting new recommendations!
