My husband and our 3 year old daughter both suffer from eczema. While I, myself, do not have to deal with that frustrating itchiness, I definitely feel terrible that anyone should have to go through it.
Vancouver has been so abnormally cold lately. The cold, dry air outside combined with the warm heated air from inside our home is not helping this skin irritation that my hubby and daughter are experiencing… not one bit!
Eczema is the common name for atopic dermatitis, a non-contagious skin condition that affects infants, children, and adults alike. In eczema, skin cannot hold onto moisture and can become dry and tight. Symptoms include skin itching, swelling and irritation. And if you can’t keep from scratching, itchy skin can be damaged and become vulnerable to infection.
Though my skin is often DRY, I am lucky to not have to experience eczema. I am also lucky that I have had the chance to review the Polysporin Eczema Essentials products because I am always looking for a way to provide relief to my husband and Portia. I have to admit that I have been using it on my hands (a lot). I wash my hands so many times a day between changing diapers, doing housework and being around lots of kids. My hands are loving the breather from constant dryness.
It tugs on my heartstrings watching Portia scratching violently at her thighs. She sometimes scratches so hard that she breaks the skin. Even the Polysporin Eczema Essentials Daily Moisturizing Cream on its own helps with the itchiness significantly and I feel happier knowing my family is getting some relief!
If you are, or someone in your family is, suffering from eczema (or you just want nice, moisturized hands like me), check out this new product. You can’t really beat instant relief!
