It felt like Mother's Day came early after the day I had yesterday! My morning started with back-to-back face and foot reflexology treatments, compliments of Kalyana, followed by being treated to high noon tea at C.C Violin Patisserie and Café. Admittedly, I have a mild obsession with foot rubs. I have friends who don't like feet anywhere near them and others who don't want anyone touching their feet, but I am all about the feet. (Especially if it involves a massage!). Starbucks’ Verismo: The New At-Home Brewing System (& a Giveaway!)

I feel so lucky to have been given the special opportunity to experience Starbucks' new at-home brewing system right from the comfort of my own home.  I felt even more excited about the experience when I found out I was  one of the first 30 or so people in Canada to see the Verismo System in action, and before it even hit the Starbucks shelves! There are many single-cup at-home brewing systems on the market right now.  Everything from Keurig to Nespresso. Coffee Dates and a Happy Toddler in North Vancouver

There was a time where I would meet friends for coffee and we would just sit and talk.  To each other.  Like, a real adult conversation. When Portia was a newborn (and up until she could crawl) those coffee dates were still a possibility, but when the kidlets discover that they can move, move they do.  As they should! Though this now meant that crowded coffee shops with sticky non-fat, no-foam, half-hot, double-sweet, caramel latte on the floor were no longer an option. Gone were the days of coffee dates with friends. Phase "crawl, scoot, flap around on the belly" was a no-coffee-dates-phase. Sigh.
