Welcome to SWEAT Vancity studio. Who are we you ask? We are the North Shore’s Premier TRX and Small Group Training Studio. Since June we have been building an incredible Community and currently offer six styles of classes ranging from beginner fundamentals to advanced cardio and suspension training sets.

What is the TRX?

Innovative. Simple. Effective.
Invented by a Navy Seal to keep fellow troops fit in remote parts of the world, the TRX is a suspension training system composed of two adjustable bands that provide a comprehensive workout to every single muscle in your body. It can be set up anywhere and is less than 3lbs to travel with.

Why Use It?

Hard to narrow down, but here are my top 4 points!
1. Suitable For Any Level 
It doesn’t matter if you’re an Olympic athlete, or just venturing into a new fitness regime; TRX suspension training is beneficial for all levels. The load can be increased or decreased on your muscles immediately just by changing your body position slightly, meaning that everyone can use it – including me at 5 months pregnant!
2. Core and Entire Body Engagement
The TRX creates instability while you perform movements meaning that your core is constantly activated. A strong core translates into your everyday life from picking up children or groceries, skiing, hiking, sports and injury prevention as you age. Moreover, the functional movements performed during our classes mean that many muscles are worked at the same time, providing an unbeatable workout. 
3. Low Impact
The TRX is very low impact which means that your joints are not overly stressed. Why is that important? Train as hard as you want, with significantly less chance of causing new injuries, or agitating an old one.  We have had fantastic endorsement and support from physiotherapists and medical professionals who train with us consistently.
4. Cardiovascular Endurance
TRX workouts will not only improve your muscle strength, but also your cardiovascular endurance. In classes we play with increasing the speed at which the exercise is performed, giving your heart and lungs an incredible workout. Pair this with our self-powered top of the line cardio machines, and you are going to performing better than ever in no time. 
 

Why SWEAT Vancity?

 
We are committed to having you be the healthiest and highest version of yourself – both mentally and physically. We will push you and motivate you in a supportive, transparent and safe manor. We believe in what we stand for, our quality of workout and we promise you, not only will you sweat, but you will not be needing a second workout.
 
A few other reasons:
 
No BS. Any person, any fitness level is welcomed into to a supportive and judgement free environment at SWEAT.  We are here to encourage, educate and motivate everyone – end of story. 
 
SWEAT Instructors are extensively trained and all use the same verbal cues while teaching. We always stress the importance of proper form, with special emphasis on engaging the core throughout each movement.
 
Small Group Classes. We limit our classes to 12 so you get much greater attention to correct form. In a full class, the group is still small enough that instructors can scan room and promote technique to avoid injury and get the highest possible benefits.
 
Community. I don’t even know where to start. Committed, loyal, friendly and strong in every way possible.

    Since moving to North Vancouver a year ago, my daughter decided to try out Sweat Vancity as it was so close to home and the type of exercise she wanted. After a few classes, she knew this was the gym for her and is so enjoying the classes. The new friends and trainers she’s met have greatly enhanced her life and she knows it was the right decision to join Sweat Vancity!
