A few months ago, PopChips contacted me to find out whether I’d like to sample their product.  As I had never heard about PopChips before, I was very intrigued (and apparently also living in a “snacker’s” hole, as everyone I told about PopChips already knew about them).

For anyone who has been out of the snacking loop like I have, PopChips are chips that are neither baked nor fried.  They are POPPED! Hence the name PopChips!

After I agreed to test out these magical snacks, this arrived at my door within a few days:

My first thought was, “yum! Salt & Vinegar flavoured!” and my second thought was, “how on earth am I going to eat all these?”.

Neither my husband nor I are big into snacking, so I decided that I would keep some of the bags to myself and bring the rest to work to get additional feedback from my co-workers.

What I really liked about the PopChips is that they are less dense, so much ‘lighter’ than eating a chip, but you still get that satisfaction of eating a chip.  Although the majority of my peers loved the salt & vinegar flavour, I think I would have preferred a different flavour, which I am going to make sure I try next time I see PopChips in the store.  I did notice last time I popped (get it?) into Whole Foods that they sell their product there, which means they HAVE to be good for you… right?!

Here is the PopChip pledge from their website:

“no fake colors, no fake flavors, no preservatives, no fluorescent orange fingertips, and no wiping your greasy chip hand on your jeans. no, really. we only use ingredients you can feel good about eating. and we leave out the bad stuff, like hydrogenated oils and msg, that give snacking a bad name. because popchips have no preservatives, make sure to get a good chip clip after opening the bag to keep our popped chips fresh. or better yet, just eat them all at once.”

Many Hollywood stars are linked to PopChips, most prominently Katy Perry.  Now I feel like I have not only been living in a ‘snacking hole’ but I also wonder where I’ve been in general? :)

Whether you are already a fan of PopChips or you have yet to try them (don’t feel bad!), here is your chance to get your hands on one of those giant boxes that you see in my photo above!

I think the Parmesan and garlic ones sound yummy or the nacho cheese tortilla ones!

I’d love to try Salsa Tortilla chips, or the Cheddar Potato chips. :)

Hey there, I got over to your post via Digg. Not something I usually read, but I really enjoy your opinions nonetheless. A big heads up for composing some thing worthy of reading through!
