I kept hearing about Jamberry and, on many occasions, I have noticed women with really interesting nail designs. Nine times out of ten, when I asked where they got their cool nails done, the answer was “these are Jamberry nails”. (One time out of ten, the answer would be “[I’m ridiculously artistic and] I hand-painted these incredible designs myself”.)
To the 1/10… I’m amazed by you! For the rest of us mortal beings who can’t paint miniature eiffel towers and Monet-inspired scenes on our own nails, Jamberry is an excellent choice 😛
A good friend of mine, Angela van Tijn is a Jamberry Independent Consultant and I’m always in awe of the pictures she posts of the cutest nails! We finally decided it was time that I test out Jamberry.
Angela sent me 3 different designs (2 for me and 1 for Portia!) and some helpful instructions on proper application.
As a Jamberry newbie, I read Angela’s instructions intently and did my best to apply the nail wraps smoothly. I had a couple that I clearly messed up and had to redo, but I think it’s because I didn’t heat them enough.
Not bad for my first attempt, if I do say so myself! 😉 What you see in the photo above is my thumb and ring finger painted with an Essie polish and then Jamberry “Out of Focus” nail wraps on the other fingers. I thought they were really fun and love the idea of accent nails for special holidays/events or even just as an alternative to every day polish (and an alternative that lasts longer too!)
As a mama of two busy girls, nail polish does not tend to last long on my nails. It is usually chipped or dented by the end of Day 1. The idea behind Jamberry nail wraps is that they are meant to last much longer, meaning less muss and fuss over your nails. Some other benefits to Jamberry nail wraps versus regular nail polish are getting the nice thin look and the fact that there is zero drying time. You apply and you are good to go!
Portia LOVED having her nails done with the wraps and even enjoyed the application process. It was much easier to do hers than my own, even though her nails were tinier. It was some nice mommy & me time together too, which is always a bonus!
(I swear I didn’t plan it. Portia’s dress just so happened to go perfectly with her Jamberry nail wraps!)
