Images by Bethany family photo shoot (& giveaway!)
GiveawaysNews October 26, 2012 Jessica Blumel 23

Since Portia was born, just over two years ago now, I have really wanted to do a professional photo session of our little family. For some reason, we never got one done, no matter how many times I reminded myself to look into it. I think finding the right photographer was part of the hesitation, as there seem to be many photographers in the Vancouver area to choose from.
As luck would have it, a few weeks ago, we were contacted by Bethany Schiedel of Images by Bethany and she offered us the opportunity to do a family portrait session with her! I no longer had to look into our options or spend the time humming and hawing over various photographer’s online portfolios to find the ‘right one’ for us. Bethany found US and we are so thankful that she did!
I first met Bethany at Vancouvermom.ca‘s Fabulous event honouring Vancouver’s Top 30 Mom Bloggers; a group I feel so privileged to be a part of, especially after getting to know many of the other 29 mamas since the whirlwind of excitement began last spring. Bethany had been given the task of rounding up each one of us mamas over the course of the evening so that we could have a complimentary headshot taken by her. Since it was my first ever ‘official’ headshot, I was nervous, but was happy to meet the smiley Bethany behind the lens.
We booked our photo session for the last week of September at Iona Beach near the Vancouver Airport. I had never been to Iona, but Bethany had recommended it, and we took her word for it. It was such a beautiful location, and the Weather was on its best behaviour, even though Portia was in a bit of a ‘mood’. I was impressed with Bethany’s photography abilities BEFORE I watched her work with a toddler, and even more so during our viewing session at her studio last night, when I saw what she was able to capture while chasing after a 2 year old at the beach. To think of all the blurry shots I have taken of Portia! Fellow mama Bethany has some serious skills!
As I could probably go on and on about how lovely and talented Bethany is, I will stop myself here and just SHOW you what I am trying to convey in words.
Here are a few of our favourites from the session.
What I love the most about our photos is that we have now documented how happy our life is. I also love that baby #2 is showing enough to have been a part of this series of shots.
We can’t thank Images by Bethany enough and I am so excited to announce that a lucky reader will have the opportunity to capture their own family’s special moments together. Bethany will be generously offering a 1-2 hour complimentary session (valued at $350), as well as a viewing session in her studio and a free 8 x 10 print, to one of YOU!
Please use the Rafflecopter entry form below and good luck! Contest closes on Tuesday, November 6th! This is a giveaway you will not want to miss out on, so enter as many ways as possible!
