We are all acutely aware of how expensive cauliflower is right now. It has also been brought to all our attention that ‘cauliflower is the new kale’.  This super food is all the rage right now and many people are giving up on it because of how much it costs in Canada.

The combination of our dollar dropping, the drought in California (where a lot of our produce comes from at this time of year) and current oil prices have sent the price of this beloved vegetable through the roof!  I heard someone say they paid $9 for a head of cauliflower the other day!!!!

Don’t Flipp out.  Or do.  Your choice 😉

If you DO chose to Flipp out… you have chosen wisely! BECAUSE… here’s how that goes:

Step 1: Go to www.flipp.com or download the Flipp App to your mobile device.
Step 2: Enter your postal code.
Step 3: Type in ‘cauliflower’.
Step 4: GET THE BEST DEAL!

Flipp Cauliflower

Oh but don’t stop at cauliflower! Think of the possibilities! Need a new tent for camping season?  Why not search for the best deal?  How about finding the exact pasta maker your friend has, but getting it at a way better price? Endless opportunities to SAVE MONEY!

I couldn’t believe I had never heard of Flipp.  I feel like I had had my head in the clouds when I finally started playing around on Flipp.com and realised how amazing it is!

Our vision is a future in which consumers and retailers are connected. We feel that weekly shopping is too much work – too mundane – and we want shopping to be fun again. We want to make sure that consumers can save time, save money, and get the right product at the right time. – Flipp

Now that you know where to get cauliflower at a price that won’t force you to remortgage your home, here are some great ways of preparing this superfood!

I once had some coupons for Purex laundry sheets (they have since been discontinued…they were sheets that went into the wash and then the dryer so it was a 2 in 1 sort of thing). The sheets were discontinued and I was able to get a whole bunch of them for $1 each. I ended up with about 6 months worth of laundry soap for less than $20. It was amazing.

Honestly – I got cauliflower for $2.47/ head at no frills a few weeks ago (Flyer Price – $2.97, but had been mislabeled so the store honoured it). My fiance is going to make some kind of medditeranean oven baking thing. I’m so excited 😀

I have saved big lots of times, but the one that sticks in my head from recently was getting an IKEA malm dresser second hand for $1. The sellers couldn’t figure out why the top drawers didn’t work properly, spent a long time trying to figure it out, and didn’t want to charge ‘too much’ since you couldn’t use the top drawers. It took me about 3 minutes looking at the instructions to figure out the mistake them made building it, and fixed. Perfect dresser for $1.
