Welcome to the 2015 North Shore Mama Holiday Gift Guide series.  This is a 3 part series that started with a compilation of really cool gifts ‘for that amazing woman in your life‘ and then, more recently, PART 2 was ‘for the creative cool kid in your life’(check it out HERE!).  I’m continuing on with the cool gift goodness with PART 3 which you’re reading now! If you are looking for great ideas on what to give the brand new baby (and baby-mama) in your life, you have come to the right place.

Holiday Gift Guide for babies

Below you will find a description of each product being featured in the North Shore Mama Holiday Gift Guide. I will also take the time to tell you a bit about each business.  Many of these businesses are small and local to Vancouver (or are Canadian), which I know will appeal to a lot of you!  Take a moment to read about the choices I made for this gift guide and why any wee one would LOVE to receive these gifts this holiday season.

1. Vonbon- Oak Geo Crewneck Pullover $45.00

It’s no secret that Vonbon is one of my favourite children’s apparel shops. You’ll see me sharing Vonbon news on all my social channels because I just love Vonbon so much! Owned and run by a local Vancouver mama, Jen Wilson, Vonbon products are made from certified organic cotton.  Quality is something that Vonbon does not compromise.  Add the fact that all the designs are absolutely gorgeous… HELLO!

This Oak Geo Crewneck Pullover is perfect for both boys and girls.  The body is organic cotton and the sleeves are fleece bamboo.  Your wee one will be the cozy AND stylish ;).

2. The Swank Social- Hello World Cake Topper $25.00

Another one of my favourite small businesses in Vancouver.  Kristina Kross is the lady boss behind The Swank Social, styling events from baby showers to grand openings of stores to children’s birthday parties.  Kristina’s style is light and bright and all-round PRETTY!

The Hello World Cake Topper is perfect for a baby shower, gender reveal, or any other situation where you could imagine wanting to celebrate some big news! “Hello World” is made of 100% birch wood and is food safe.

3. Twistshake- Anti-Colic Baby Bottle $19.00

Twistshake is a Swedish company born out of recognizing the need for a bottle that would make formula feeding more efficient and less demanding.  These bottles focus on three main points: prevention of clogging in the formula, an effective way of handling servings and easy clean-up.

The Anti-Colic Bottles come in various sized and include formula container add-ons.  They are the new generation of baby bottle and are worth checking out!

4. Minimoc- Baby Mocassins $45

You’ve seen them and you’ve been coveting them.  Am I right or am I right? :P.  I so wish Minimocs had been around when my girls were babies, as these are the sweetest little soft-soled shoes your babe could kick around in. Another Vancouver-based small business, Minimocs are made out of durable leather and with the utmost love.

Minimoc soft-soled shoes are a great gift for an expecting friend or for your own wee one!

5. Mushybooks- Modern Baby Books $79.00

This is another company that I wish existed when I had my babies! I believe it is so important to make an effort to document all the special little moments in our children’s lives and a Mushybooks baby book is the perfect place for those memories.

These Modern Baby Books include 50 pages with lots of space to include all of those special moments while avoiding tacky graphics and cheesy headings.  They are handmade and stylish and come in a variety of styles for you to choose from.

6. Kaboodles Toy Stores- Skip Hop Explore & More Roll-Around Rattles $11.99

As a way of giving back to the community, Kaboodles Toy Stores is running its second annual toy drive this year – happening now until Christmas. The toy drive supports families who can’t afford gifts for their children. People can participate by bringing an unwrapped gift to any Kaboodles location. If you want to purchase a gift for the toy drive from Kaboodles, you’ll receive a store discount of 10%. All gifts will be delivered to the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau, who will pass them on to families in need this Christmas. I love companies that give back like this!

The Skip Hop Explore & More Roll-Around Rattles you see in the image (the owl and the hedgehog) are great for engaging babies 3 months+ in developmental play.  Great for rolling, shaking, tossing and TEETHING :)

7. Etty & Roll- Trous Noir Carry-All Clutch $95.00

Etty & Roll is new to the Stylish Mama scene in Vancouver.  It is a fresh line of baby essential products for new moms on the go.  These carry-all clutches include everything you need for a day out with your littles in one convenient (and stylish) bag.  The clutch includes a burp cloth, change pad and nursing cover and these sets come in a variety of styles for you to have a look at.

The Trous Noir is one of the many sets included in the Etty & Roll lineup.  All the products they create are machine washable, anti-bacterial and pretty! These would make for a great shower gift, not to mention a fun gift to unwrap from under the tree this holiday season!

8. Discovery Toys- My Friends Puzzle $26.00

This chunky puzzle fosters an appreciation for the diversity most of today’s children experience in their communities. The chunky pieces enable success and confidence for little hands. This puzzle helps to strengthen fine motor skills, improve memory, develop critical thinking skills and so much more!

We have acquired many Discovery Toys items over the last couple of years and they always end up being our girls’ favourite toys and the ones that get the most use.  Make sure to check out the catalogue on Leah’s site to explore the wide range of toys available, catering to different abilities and needs as well!
