“We Dont Stop Playing Because We Grow Old. We Grow Old Because We Stop Playing” ~ George Bernard Shaw
Oh what a surprise! We woke up to rain on the North Shore the other morning! No worries. I had a trick up my sleeve to keep my active 19 month old daughter happy and entertained. I finally made it to our local Gymboree for a music class. I have been wanting to try a class there for months now and, on that particularly gloomy day, I decided music class would be just the right dose of brightness we were missing.
What a happy place Gymboree North Shore Play & Music is! Portia and I were greeted with smiles and handshakes and “come on in’s!” before we even had a chance to remove our wet jackets and boots. The friendly staff and the vibrant colours were the instant hit of the brightness I was seeking.
The music class was so much fun! This month’s musical theme is Rock and Roll, and we rocked and rolled for 45 minutes. We used all sorts of instruments from maracas to tambourines to cowbells. We sang, we danced, we clapped and Portia squealed with delight. We cannot wait to try Play and Learn next!
