Friday is possibly my favourite day of the week. Not only because Friday kicks-off the much anticipated and greatly needed weekend, but because it is the day that I take my 19 month old daughter, Portia, to BabyTales storytime at the Lynn Valley library.
This is a great FREE activity for your infant/toddler and I highly recommend it. We sing songs and the facilitator reads fun stories. The kids are free to roam the room and sit on a giant alphabet mat (which is a huge hit with the kidlets), but often stay close to mom/dad/nanny etc. because there are many opportunities for being bounced on a knee or raised into the air depending on the song or story. BabyTales is for infants aged 12-24 months, but there are similar programs available for older children as well at the Lynn Valley Library called ToddleTales and StoryTales.
I meet some of my mommy friends there each week, and after the library time, we mamas grab a coffee at Delaney’s while the munchkins blow off some steam in the big open courtyard of Lynn Valley Village. Truly Fantastic Fridays!
See you there?

**please note that there are other libraries on the North Shore that offer similar programs. This is not exclusive to Lynn Valley Library. So, pop into your local library or look up the location nearest you to find out what types of programs they have to offer. The programs are really worth checking out!**
