Fall Training

Many people seem to think that Summer is the time to get fit, when in fact  next summer’s body starts now! Even if you already feel like you’re in great shape, a month or two of exercise is going to have a  positive impact on your body.  Many make January the month to start their program. Fall is the time for new beginnings.  Make a lifestyle change and the sooner you start to practice that lifestyle the sooner you will get results!

Average weight loss in normal, healthy adults is 1-2 lbs a week which can be achieved with a healthy diet and regular exercise. Examine your goals, consider your unique social and professional situation along the way, and see where you are in the new year!!

Weather plays a large role in our exercise routines. With temperature changes, the fall brings challenges to us “fair-weather” runners and hikers.  We tend to stay indoors instead of hitting the trails. Diet can also impacted by the cold weather.  We naturally tend to lean towards heavier fall meals and away from our local fresh fruit and produce. These two factors can influence your weight loss and discourage your efforts.

Joining a group fitness class is one of the best ways to get into a regular routine!  Membership provides you with not only a positive commitment to change, but also the opportunity to form healthy relationships and motivation, pushing yourself harder than you would on your own. Whether it’s a dance class, Zumba, Kickboxing or Bootcamp, you are working as a team with a common group goal. From there you can personalize your workouts as well, either with a personal trainer or on your own. Providing a goal of at least 150 minutes of moderate to intense cardio and 2-4 days of weight training a week, you will achieve your goals and feel great!

At Fit For Life, we offer a 6 am bootcamp Tuesdays and Thursdays and a women’s class on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 9:15 a.m.  These are perfect for all fitness levels.  Don’t be shy.  Come and join us.  Classes are $15 each for drop in and monthly packages are also available. We teach a wide variety of circuit training, cardio, agility and kickboxing. Your first class is free.  We encourage you to come and try a class.   This may be the best decision you have made for a healthy life!
