This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Kraft Peanut Butter. All opinions are 100% mine.
There are some things kids just do NOT need to know. I’m not talking about white lies. I’m talking about straight-up omissions of information that doesn’t need to be shared. Like, how nutritious these energy balls are, for example. Let’s all just let the kids enjoy their ‘treats’, ok?! 😉
I used to make energy balls for Portia all the time before I had Madeleine. Then… life with 2. (Enough said?) Since I am not a baker and rarely have ‘baking ingredients’ on hand, I kind of forgot about energy balls until a friend made some the other day and Portia and Mads gobbled down MINE. I decided it was time to make a batch again.
Because of how tasty these little balls can be made, they are a great way of cramming in all sorts of awesome nutitious ingredients for the ultimate hit of energy! The base for my Don’t-Tell-The-Kids-They-Are-Nutritious energy balls? Kraft all-natural peanut butter!
Kraft has produced a line of 100% natural peanut butter designed to fit into your healthy lifestyle. Taste should never be compromised for nutrition and Kraft agrees! Whether it’s a part of a larger recipe or just an everyday snack, Kraft Naturals are a valuable addition to any part of your day
Kraft 100% Natural Peanut Butter is made with simple ingredients! Smooth and Crunchy are made with 100% peanuts. Sea salt and honey are made with peanuts + sea salt or honey! They make a perfect base for this recipe!
“Don’t-Tell-The-Kids-They-Are-Nutritious” Energy Balls
- 1 cup large rolled oats
- ½ cup Kraft Sea Salt Peanut Butter
- ½ cup ground flaxseed
- 1/3 cup honey
- ½ cup chocolate chips
- 1 tbsp. chia seeds
- 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
- 2/3 cup shredded coconut (either to add into the balls or to roll the balls in at the end)
- Mix all of the ingredients in a large bowl until fully blended.
- Place the bowl in the fridge for 30 minutes.
- Remove the mix from the fridge and roll into balls. (You can make them any size you wish!)
- Roll the balls in the shredded coconut, if desired.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
The great thing about these energy balls is that you can freeze them! Pull them out the day of a summertime picnic and they will be ready to eat by the time the kids need some refueling.
Tips for enjoying Kraft all-natural peanut butters…

o Don’t forget to refrigerate after opening
Feel good about the snacks you give the kids!
