Spring is here! The days are longer and warmer and there is so much more outside play time, which the girls love (and so do we parents, right!).  Something that I notice with the girls when we’re getting that much more fresh air and that much more exercise is that Madeleine’s naps are longer and Portia needs some serious ‘down time’ to make it through the day.

Luckily, Portia is finally interested in colouring and crafting.  She hasn’t always been a fan, despite my elaborate efforts to plan fun activities for her :P.  It’s so much more enjoyable during Madeleine’s naps when Portia can get into some quiet art time and truly enjoy it.

Seeing as I am an ambassador this year for Kinder Surprise, we tend to have a few egg capsules hanging around our home at any given time.  I decided to scour Pinterest for some fun little craft ideas we could play around with using the egg capsules. Here are three I loved most!

Kinder Surprise minions

From Red Ted Art, these Kinder Surprise Minions are just the cutest!

Kinder Surprise Chickadee craft

Sweet little chickadees from Free Kids Crafts.

Kinder Surprise Bumblebee craft

Portia is fascinated by bees these days, so this would be a really fun bumblebee craft activity, from Of Pinks and Fairytales.

Make sure you keep an eye out for the exciting new Kinder Surprises being released in May.  Follow the action on their Facebook page

What do you do with your Kinder Surprise capsules?  I’d love to hear in the comments if you have other fun craft ideas! :)

Nice to meet you! I'm Jessica a.k.a North Shore Mama. This site was born out of my love for my daughters and the desire to share my motherhood journey with fellow moms. I believe we're all in this craziness called 'parenthood' together and North Shore Mama is my way of reaching out to anyone who needs a laugh, a cry or dinner inspiration. Thank you so much for reading!
